The purpose of this design project is to combine form and function, an important part of any architectural design in order to create a bridge with a moving span. We took both a bridge in real life and a movable multi-hinged object and created a new design under the influence of both these ideas. Understanding form and function allows us as architects to create both structures and spaces with well defined meaning.
